UJ Check Your Admission/NSFAS/Residence Status
To Check Your Admission/NSFAS/Residence Status visit the University of Johannesburg official website.

Scroll down the page and you can find the ‘Application Information’ Click the button
Then select the ‘Check Your Status – Admission/NSFAS/Residence’ in the left side of the Academic Application tab
Check your Application & NSFAS Status
After that Select ‘Check Your Admission Status’ link. Only first time entering students can check their application status, returning students have to contact 011 559 4555.
AND
You can check the status of your NSFAS application.
Step 1 : Enter Your Student Number [8569324] OR Enter ID/Passport Number. If you do not have a student number you may also use your ID/Passport number to search.
Step 2 : Enter the Text shown in the text box
Step 3 : Select the Year [2018]
Step 4 : Click Search button
Check Accommodation Status
To Check Your Accommodation Status click the ‘Check Your Residence Status’ link
Then enter your student number together with the Captcha image.
Online Academic Application
Select the Academic Application link under the ‘Apply’ tab and read the procedures carefully before you apply.
Application Methods :
UJ has TWO different methods of applying. You have the option to choose only ONE of the following
i. ONLINE Web Application = FREE
ii. OFFLINE Paper Application = R200

In the case of applicants re-writing Grade 12 subjects, applications will be processed on the current results available.
Checklist :
** Valid email address
** If residence is required then a deposit of R1220 must be paid.
** All documents must be certified When uploading documents
** Alternatively, documents can be emailed to ujappdocs [AT] listsrv.uj.ac.za with the provisional reference/student number noted in the subject line of the email.
Click the New Applicant Submit link in the right side of the page and fill the Application Form
Step 1 : Select Do you already have a student number [No]
Step 2 : Select Do you already have a student number? [No]
Step 3 : Select Returning to complete application [No]
Step 4 : Select Do you have a Qualification Specific Token? [No]
Please Read and accept the following POPI act/clause in order to continue with your online application
Step 5 : Tick I Accept check box and Click Next button
Step 6 : Fill your Personal and Education details to complete your Registration

Online Residence Application
For first time applicants, first complete the academic application process and use your student/reference number to complete the residence application
To Apply for Residence select the ‘Residence Application’ under the Apply tab
Important Information :
** Selected applicants/students will be required to pay a residence deposit of R1 220.00
** Consider your residence application cancelled if the required deposit of R1 220.00 is not paid by 31 October 2018.
** You may reside only on the campus where you attend your studies.
** No residence transfers are allowed.
** Only applicants studying UG & PG programmes may apply for residence
How to Apply?
Step 1 : Enter your student number and pin to login.
If you forgot your pin, or don’t have one yet, enter your student number and click on the “Forgot Pin?” button. A pin will be sent to your registered email address.
Step 2 : When you are logged in, expand the ‘Student Web Systems’ folder on the left hand side
Step 3 : Expand the ‘Application Process’ folder and click on the ‘Residence’ fields as highlighted. Accept the rules and regulations.
Step 4 : Click on the ‘Application Process’ folder on the left hand side and then click on the ‘Show’ button under Residence Applications
Step 5 : Click on the ‘Add New Residence Application’ button
Step 6 : Complete the highlighted fields and then click on the ‘Proceed With Application’ button
Step 7 : Click on the “New Record’ button to submit your application

You can Pay your student Tuition Fee online. For that click the ‘Online Payments’ link in the top of the home page
Then click on the Student Account Payments link and follow the below steps

Step 2 : Enter Your Reference [Emershan]
Step 3 : Enter the Amount [1000]
Step 4 : Click Submit button
Step 5 : Enter Your Card Number [1234567890123456]
Step 6 : Enter Card Holders Name [John Smith]
Step 7 : Enter Card Expiration Date [01-2018]
Step 8 : Enter the CVV Number [The last 3 digits of the back of the Card]
Step 9 : Enter Your Confirmation Email (Optional)[emershan@gmail.com]
Step 10 : Click on the Payment button

Online applicants will receive either a final or deferred status within 48 hours. Hardcopy applicants will receive either a final or deferred status within 5 working days.
4. Can I apply without a copy of my ID/Passport document?
Yes, you can apply without submitting a copy of your ID/Passport document.
5. Can I use the downloaded application form or do I request an original form?
Yes, you may submit a completed application form that you have downloaded.
6. Can I apply via email?
No, you may not apply via email. Applicants are encouraged to apply online. Applicants wanting to submit a hardcopy application form can submit their application form at any of the four UJ campuses or the application can be sent via post to the University.
7. Can I fax my application form?
